Legends of Tomorrow, an American television series based on DC Comics characters, premiered on The CW on January 21, 2016 and ran for 16 episodes until May 19, 2016. The season follows a team of heroes and villains as they travel through time to fight a greater threat, set in the Arrowverse shared continuity with other series in the universe, and is a spin-off of Arrow and The Flash.
The action-packed show was produced by Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, and DC Entertainment, with Phil Klemmer and Chris Fedak as showrunners. The season was ordered in May 2015 and filmed that August, starring Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, and principal cast members Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Ciara Renée, Falk Hentschel, Amy Pemberton, Dominic Purcell, and Wentworth Miller.
