This highly anticipated American superhero movie is based on Marvel Comics and features the beloved characters of Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, The Marvels is set to be the sequel to the Captain Marvel (2019) film and a continuation of the Ms. Marvel (2022) TV series. It is also the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Directed by Nia DaCosta and co-written by Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells, the film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, alongside Samuel L. Jackson. In The Marvels, our superhero trio finds themselves switching places with each other every time they use their powers, forcing them to team up to tackle this new challenge.

Marvel Studios confirmed plans to create a sequel to Captain Marvel back in July 2019, with development kicking off in January 2020. Larson was set to reprise her role as Danvers, with McDonnell joining the team. DaCosta was hired to direct the film in August 2020, and by December of that year, Vellani and Parris were revealed to have been cast. Filming began in mid-April 2021 in New Jersey, with the title of the film being announced in early May. Principal photography took place from August 2021 to May 2022 at various locations in England, Los Angeles, and Tropea, Italy. Post-production work revealed that McDonnell, Karasik, and Wells also contributed to the screenplay.

The Marvels is slated to hit theaters in the United States on November 10, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. So mark your calendars, assemble your squad, and get ready to witness this epic superhero team-up!
