Will you be able to unravel the mystery and prevent an interstellar war? The fate of the galaxy is in your hands in Star Trek: Resurgence.

Gameplay

The game’s adventure is non-episodic and requires players to engage in choice-driven conversations with decisions that will influence the direction of the story, including the fates of the characters.

Players will have to navigate the webs of diplomacy and relationships in the game’s world, and choose their actions wisely as people may live or die based on their decisions. The game’s design is focused on the power of words and the ability of the players to influence the story through their choices.

In the game, players will attend a trade negotiation between two alien races on the brink of war, the Hotari and Alydians. The Hotari is a rough and tumble race that resides on a moon dense in dilithium, a precious resource. The Alydians are a strict militaristic civilization that has traded in the mineral for decades and hopes to continue this arrangement.

As Commander Jara, players will be joined by Captain Zachary Solano and Ambassador Spock in the negotiation. Depending on the choices made by the player during the conversation, the situation can be either soothed or agitated. Players must assume that everything they say and do can result in significant consequences, good or bad.

When it comes to negotiating, players will be put on the spot and must make a hard choice on which race the Federation should support in this trade dispute. This tension-filled scene is made effective through the solid performances on display, with Spock’s new voice actor proving to be a respectable replacement for the late Leonard Nimoy.
