The combat system in “Atomic Heart” is nothing short of spectacular. Players are armed with a variety of improvised weapons, from guns and blades to pipes and crowbars, to take on an equally diverse range of enemies. From mechanical monstrosities to flying beasts and everything in between, players will face a constant barrage of challenges as they progress through the game.

In this world, resources are scarce and every shot counts. The player’s arsenal can be upgraded and improved by piecing together metal parts from robots and household appliances, or using the game’s unique crafting system. The player also has the ability to upgrade ammo using elemental effects, adding another layer of strategy to the combat.

One of the standout features of “Atomic Heart” is the Polymer Glove, a special glove that grants the player a range of powerful abilities, including telekinesis, freezing, and electricity. These powers can be combined with both melee and ranged weapons, adding an extra layer of depth to the combat.

The game’s setting is a bleak and mysterious world where danger lurks around every corner. Quick-time events are also included, offering players intense and pulse-pounding moments of excitement.

In “Atomic Heart”, every decision counts and every shot has consequences. Get ready to embark on a wild ride through a world unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, with a combat system that will keep you coming back for more.

The Plot

“Atomic Heart” is set in an alternate 1955 and takes place in Facility 3826, the Soviet Union’s premier scientific research center. In the 1930s, a scientist named Dmitry Sechenov revolutionized the fields of energy and robotics by developing a programmable liquid called the Polymer and a networked AI called the Kollektiv. He also created a device known as “Thought” which integrates the Polymer into the human body, allowing for remote neural interfacing with the robots.

However, things take a dark turn on June 13, 1955 when the official launch of Kollektiv 2.0 goes wrong and chaos ensues at Facility 3826. The player takes on the role of Major Sergei Nechayev, a mentally unstable special agent nicknamed P-3, sent by Sechenov to contain the situation. P-3 must face robots that have gone haywire, failed biomechanical experiments, and his own deteriorating mental state in this thrilling adventure.

Atomic Heart Release Date

“Atomic Heart” is developed by the international studio Mundfish, based in Cyprus. The team, which previously developed the VR game “Soviet Lunapark,” shifted their focus entirely to “Atomic Heart” in 2018. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and leverages Nvidia RTX and DLSS technologies in GeForce RTX graphics cards.

Initially, a story trailer released in February 2022 hinted at a Q4 2022 release with the tagline “#######BER.” However, in November of the same year, it was officially announced that “Atomic Heart” would be released on February 21, 2023.

Mundfish will self-publish the game in the CIS region, while 4Divinity will handle publication in Asia. French-based company Focus Entertainment will be in charge of worldwide publication, excluding the CIS and Asia regions.
