2023 Video Game Release Guide

Get ready to grab your controllers and buckle up for a thrilling ride because 2023 is going to be an exciting year for video game enthusiasts. With over a hundred highly anticipated game releases slated for the year, gamers are in for a treat.

From epic RPGs like Starfield, Final Fantasy 16, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to beloved series like Marvel’s Spider-Man, Assassin’s Creed, and Street Fighter, there’s no shortage of games to look forward to. Gamers can also expect some long-awaited franchise returns, including Diablo and Pikmin. It’s an exciting time to be a gamer, and with so many incredible titles on the horizon, 2023 is shaping up to be a landmark year in gaming history.

January

The video games released in January were all great, and really got the year off to a great start. A lot of kids enjoyed the new Spongebob game, Dead Space was a highly anticipated release, and of course One Piece Odyssey was another good one. April is going to be a huge month for game releases in 2023, with Meet Your Maker, Minecraft Legends, Dead Island 2, and so many more great games launching. Star Wars and Star Trek fans both have new releases to look forward to in April.

Hogwarts Legacy is coming to previous gen Xbox and PS consoles in May, and Zelda fans will be happy about the Tears of the Kingdom release! May doesn’t have a ton of game releases, but there is definitely some quality here!

It’s hard to say which game will steal the show, but Diablo 4 and Final Fantasy 16 are both highly anticipated games and will for sure bring in a ton of cash!

You can expect this list to grow as more information is revealed about upcoming games for 2023 and beyond. Right now, we’re only expecting to see a handful of video game releases for August… well, just two for now.

November

Expect more big releases in November, but for now, we only know of one video game coming out this month.

  • The Day Before on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC – November 10

December

December is known to be a slow month for video game releases and the industry typically gets the big games out of the way so they are ready to sell for the holidays. For now, there aren’t any known video game releases for December 2023. We will keep this list maintained, and if you hear about a confirmed December release date before us, please leave a comment and share the info with us!
